CAREERS
Systems & Infrastructure Engineer
Jakarta Selatan,
Indonesia
The Systems & Infrastructure Engineer owns the infrastructure layer that every Ferbos deployment runs on — the networks, servers, edge devices, and hardware that carry our platform into the real world. You bring new systems up from bare metal, integrate with the infrastructure already on site, and make sure the foundation is solid before, during, and after every rollout.
We deliver through a network of partners and contractors, and you are the internal technical authority who sets the standard, proves out new technology, and holds the quality bar.
Responsibilities
- Design, set up, configure, and troubleshoot deployment infrastructure: networks, edge devices, servers, and isolated OT segments
- Assess and integrate with existing on-site infrastructure — networks, controllers, and building systems
- Bring up hardware from bare metal: firmware flashing, provisioning, and device commissioning
- Deploy and validate the FerbOS Edge runtime and open-source components on production hardware
- Prototype, test, and qualify new hardware and software ahead of large-scale rollout
- Support the full deployment lifecycle — technical scoping in pre-sales, delivery during projects, and reliability in operations
- Guide and review the work of implementation partners and contractors
Requirements
- Polytechnic and vocational graduates, self-taught engineers, and experienced technicians are all encouraged to apply.
- Hands-on by instinct — you get systems working on real hardware rather than stopping at analysis
- Comfortable working on-site and under real-world constraints: incomplete information, live environments, and deadlines
- A solid grasp of Linux, networking (VLANs, routing, serial/RS-485), and embedded or edge hardware, with the ability to learn quickly
- Disciplined about documentation, so knowledge stays with the team and scales across sites
- Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia, with enough English to work with technical documentation and tooling
Valued Experience
- Embedded Linux / Buildroot, firmware flashing, and board bring-up
- Industrial and OT protocols: Modbus RS-485, BACnet, Zigbee, energy metering
- Building management systems, HVAC controls, PLCs, inverters, and solar
- A homelab, self-hosting, hardware modification, or robotics — anything you have built and made work
What's great in the job?
- Hands-on work on live energy and smart-building deployments
- The backing of the renewable ecosystem — solar PV, HVAC engineering, and energy
- A clear path to deepen your expertise in edge and OT systems, and to grow into security
