Sales Engineer
Ferbos sell through the technical problems building owners actually feel: rising energy bills, chillers that keep tripping, tenant comfort complaints, a looming Greenship / ESG target. Our job is to translate those problems into solutions and into numbers that make business sense.
That means we need someone who can stand comfortably between two worlds — the client's technical complaints on one side, and our engineering team and tools on the other — and translate both ways.
You won't be expected to solve HVAC problems yourself. Our engineering team and founder are here for the deep technical work. What we need from you is the ability to hear the problem correctly, ask the right follow-up questions, carry a well-framed problem back to the team, and bring the answer back to the client in the language of rupiah, risk, and uptime.
You'll do this side-by-side with our business-development lead as a genuine partner — she's strong on relationships and commercial instinct, you bring the technical and field grounding. You'll cover each other's blind spots.
Responsibilities
- Join and help lead conversations with building owners, building managers, and their engineering teams — listening for the real operational pain behind what they say.
- Map those complaints onto what Ferbos delivers (energy efficiency, asset reliability, indoor environment quality, Greenship / ESG readiness) and ask sharper follow-up questions to pin down the real problem.
- Carry well-framed technical questions to our engineering team — not "the client asked something, please answer," but a clear, structured problem.
- Bring the team's answers back to decision-makers in business terms: cost, risk, downtime, asset value, certification readiness.
- Together, document the client scenarios that come up again and again, and shape a simple escalation process with the engineering team — so the commercial side gets more self-sufficient over time instead of relying on ad-hoc discussions.
Must Have
- Have genuine field exposure to building/HVAC/energy systems — enough to speak credibly with a client's engineer and to formulate a problem correctly.
- Want to be in the room with the client. You're energized by the conversation, not looking to hide in a spec sheet.
- Communicate well both ways — you can explain a technical idea to a non-technical building owner, and carry a client's messy problem back to engineers cleanly.
- Listen first, sell second. You want to understand the problem before offering anything.
- Are comfortable using AI as a daily tool, with the judgment to know when an answer needs validating before it reaches a client.
- Are low-ego, coachable, and excited to build something early rather than slot into a finished machine.
Nice to have
- Exposure to green building / Greenship / ESG.
- Familiarity with efficiency metrics (COP, delta-T), indoor air quality, or BAS/BMS.
- Any client-facing or commercial experience, even informal.
What's great in the job?
- A front-row seat in an early-stage energy-intelligence company, backed by the a strong renewable energy ecosystem.
- The chance to shape the commercial playbook, not inherit one.
- A real peer partnership — not a cog in a machine.
- Room to grow as the company grows.
