IT Solution Engineer

About the job

As an IT Solution Engineer, you’ll play a central role in designing, building, and integrating digital systems that connect the dots between devices (IoT), data, and business outcomes.

This role suits tech-minded individuals who enjoy solving problems, building systems, and bridging IT and operational technology (OT).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop solutions using Ferbos’ IoT, automation, and digital platforms
• Connect hardware (sensors, controllers) to cloud platforms (e.g. ThingsBoard, Node-RED, MQTT, etc.)
• Configure dashboards, alerts, automations, and AI-based insights for clients
• Integrate digital solutions with customer systems (e.g., API, ERP, database)
• Work with business/sales team to convert requirements into technical solutions
• Test, troubleshoot, and document end-to-end solutions
• Occasionally support implementation and training for clients and internal team

Qualifications

Required:

• Degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields
• Experience or strong interest in:
  • Programming (Python / JavaScript / Node-RED / Bash)
  • Databases (PostgreSQL / TimescaleDB / MongoDB)
  • API and system integration
  • Cloud and IoT platforms (e.g., ThingsBoard, AWS IoT, Azure IoT, etc.)
• Familiarity with:
  • Networking (TCP/IP, MQTT, Modbus, HTTP)
  • Linux-based systems
  • Git version control
• Good communication & documentation skills
• Willing to learn continuously and work in multidisciplinary teams

Bonus Points:

• Experience with smart buildings, PLCs, or industrial IoT
• Familiarity with AI/ML for anomaly detection or forecasting
• Built or contributed to real-world automation/digital projects
